Abstract

There is a long history before, but leaving it aside now, the thing is that there, next to the Church of San Francisco, the Capuchins founded the Convent, which this year celebrates its first centenary. That Convent would become a point of missionary dissemination to the rest of the country, towards Panama, Central America and Mexico, places reached by the Capuchins, all centers of irradiation of Franciscan spirituality, and where they restructured the cult, formed pious associations that raised the quality of life of the people, rebuilt and built temples, surrendered unreservedly to the good of others with a creative capacity that demanded immense humanly inexplicable efforts.
