Abstract
With that idea in mind, since the distant year of 1980, through more than twenty years, I have dedicated my spare time to rummaging through archives and libraries in Costa Rica and Italy, doing interviews, storing and classifying Information obtained, to seek modalities of analysis and interpretation of the accumulated data and, finally, to systematize the result that is reflected in the book that is presented today. I have thus come to the proposed end: the reconstruction of the Italian immigration process in Costa Rica, from Christopher Columbus to San Vito de Java, from 1502 to 1952.
