Abstract

Costa Rica, throughout its history, has shown openness and a desire to integrate into international markets, a clear case of this has been the position as an exporter that it achieved with bananas and coffee. However, in recent years the conditions of the external markets for these products have deteriorated, causing great losses for the country, compromising its economic and social stability. But it is only the international market that provides an alternative to solve this trade balance deficit, by attracting private foreign investment.
