Abstract

On the occasion of the celebration of the 518th anniversary of the discovery of America, it is necessary to make a serious reflection on how far the arrival of the Europeans really was a "discovery" and not an invasion. The thesis is maintained, as scientists who write this article, that this discovery invasion was not the work of chance, as it is assumed, but rather of causality, and supporting such hypothesis, causal triggers, among others, the advances in the sciences, especially in the geographical and historical sciences, as common threads in the studies of our planet, from which the analysis of a whole set of ideas and practices that throughout history led to the end of this event.
