Abstract

After carefully reading the respective texts, as well as the formation of the Costa Rican narrative and the History of Costa Rican literature by Álvaro Quesada and Abelardo Bonilla, the following question should be asked. Is a history of Costa Rican literature possible? And if it is, under what budgets? Is our literature so rich that it deserves a generic classification or, on the contrary, is it so insufficient that it is necessary to deal with a single author - García Monge - to define the genesis of national realism?
