University and company: a nexus that favors management innovation in Costa Rica

Abstract

This article displays the results of a perception study on the innovation in the organizations in Costa Rica. As conceptual and methodologic direction were used the Manual of Oslo: Proposed for Guidelines Collecting and Interpreting Technological Innovation, proposed by the Organization for the Development and the Economic Cooperation. Within the main findings the results appear of which the people interviewed understand by innovation, the origins, effects and obstacles for the innovation; the more significant practices and experiences in innovation; the participation, success and failure in the management of the innovation; and the challenges of the public university to favor the management of the innovation in the organizations in Costa Rica.
