Main Article Content
Abstract
The article is an invitation to everyone, and especially to students in order to analyze the coherence of universities’ work. It deals with the issue of ethical discourse of universities, especially private ones in the training of students in Costa Rica. To this end we analyze the present moment our part to live, based on a story from the days of the great philosopher Plato and his role, and as even the sale of this suffering as a slave, founded the first major Academy in the West.
It takes as its starting point for private higher education in Costa Rica, the case of the Autonomous University of Central America (UACA) since its inception in 1976, and how to manage it from a nonprofit foundation, which allows true freedom in the pursuit of truth and autonomy in defense of academic freedom, a situation that is checked by reading its charter, its Constitution, with a tradition of humanism ethics from the prevailing view that knowledge man is the basis for setting standards and values.
