Abstract

Last Thursday, March 21, we were informed, in a periodic meeting of tutors of the College, of the proposal to modify the curricula of the Universal Culture courses taught by the Stvdivm Generale.

According to what was said on that occasion, it seems to me that the proposal consists of abandoning the current programs (Universal Culture 1: Apology and Criton -Socrates and Plato-, Politics -Aristotle-, De Natura Boni against Manichaeos -St. Augustine-; Cultural Universal 2: San Anselmo de Aosta -Vida y Obras-, Santo Tomás de Aquino -Vida y Obras: De Veritate, Q. I, a. 1-5-, Francisco de Vitoria -Vida y Obras: Relections De Indis y De lure Belli-; Universal Culture 3: John Locke -Essay on Civil Government-, Jaime Balmes -The method- and Teodoro Olarte -Anthropology. The Self and the Man) for some plans that begin with a first course on the Metaphysics of Aristotle, a second course that will be dedicated to Kant, Critique of Pure Reason, and a third course related to Ortega y Gasset.
