Abstract

An exposition is made out of both, the theory of plus-value and that of the exploitation of labor, in order to firstly show their weaknesses, as done by the economist Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk, at the end of the XIX century, while in a second part a more recent critique of those theories made by the economist George Reisman is presented. In the first case, Böhm-Bawerk shows than capitalist entrepreneurs make an advancement of payments to workers and that profits are a reward for such a pay in advance. There is not a labor exploitation, since production is not instantaneous but roundabout, and for that advancement, in the face of uncertainty in product sales income that covers all expenses, the entrepreneur obtains profits, that are hence not the result of labor exploitation.

In a second part, Reisman, differently from Böhm-Bawerk, contends that, in place of labor factor having full entitlement to the value of the product, to the capitalist-entrepreneurs correspond the total value of production, since wages and other costs referred to that production, rather come about from those original and primary profits.
