Abstract

We all know of the deep institutional, political and economic crisis in which we find ourselves, and in which we play in the medium and long term nothing less than our freedom and the possibility of increasing prosperity for all.
I want here to touch on a few background points which I think are sometimes insufficiently addressed in the discussions that we have between us in Central America on the course of moving forward in the immediate future.
They are: the erroneous credit and monetary policies, the state's intervention in the markets, and why certain attitudes by civil servants, and the people in general, which have led to trade and other activities of residents of the isthmus to the current serious deterioration.
